World Vegan Month

November marks the beginning of World Vegan Month – an awareness campaign and global celebration of veganism!

World Vegan Month evolved from the very first World Vegan Day, created by The Vegan Society on 1 November 1994. The society is the world’s oldest vegan charity, whose members first introduced the word ‘vegan’ to the world.

The present-day campaign aims to shine a light on the vegan movement globally, as well as helping those people who choose a vegan lifestyle with advice, tips, recipes and more.

Living a vegan lifestyle

The number of people living a vegan lifestyle has grown significantly over the past decade.

In 2023 in the UK alone there was 1.4m vegans – equating to 2.5% of the UK adult population!
