New Food Shop opening!

We are so excited to announce that our new food shop will be opening on Saturday 22nd May! This new shop will be at 227 Ashely Road, BH14 9DS, just across the road from our existing store, and will stock food and supplements.  

If you are local please do come and celebrate with us!

We have been working hard behind the scenes renovating the new shop in a sustainable way. Our new signage is being made by Southampton Wood Recycling Project, a fantastic not-for-profit enterprise saving wood from landfill, offering affordable timer and upcycled wooden products and we are upcycling shop furniture wherever possible. We even had a surprise when we lifted the carpet to find wooden parquet flooring which has now been sanded ready to varnish!

The history of the shop

Our new shop came about after the most recent owner of Health Care, Michael Simpson very tragically and suddenly died at the in April 2020. Health Care had been a presence on Ashley Road, offering expert advise and health care products to the local community, since the early 1980s. 

We very quickly realised how important him and his shop were to the local community through meeting his previous customers and we knew we had to do something to continue his legacy and keep a strong health care presence on the Ashley Road.

Looking to the future

We envisage both our shops to be places to visit with friends and family, discover new products, support wellbeing, and seek advice. We aim to partner with other community organisations to offer well rounded support to our customers and support small and local business too. 

To be a  positive influence in our community is the dream!
