Steam-distilled from the wood of the Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica), this single-ingredient essential oil has a warm, dry, woody aroma with a soft balsamic edge. It is a middle note, so it gives blends depth and staying power.
The oil is taken from waste wood and sawdust left over after the trees are felled. The Atlas cedar is native to the mountains of Morocco and Algeria, and the oil is supplied here in a 10ml bottle with nothing added.
Add it to a diffuser or burner for a calm, grounding atmosphere, blend it into a carrier oil for massage, or put a few drops in the bath at the end of the day. Properly diluted, it is also traditionally used in shampoos and lotions for oily hair and skin.
