FAQs
What does Gajah Mountain taste like?
Rich, creamy and earthy with notes of herbal chocolate, malt, treacle and ginger cake. As a milk drink, expect a delightful caramel finish. As filter: low acidity with a bold, earthy chocolate character and bourbon biscuit notes.
Why is Sumatran coffee different?
Sumatran coffees are processed using the wet-hulled (Giling Basah) method, which produces a distinct low-acidity, full-bodied, earthy profile that sets them apart from washed or naturally processed coffees from other origins.
What roast level is this?
Dark roast — bringing out the rich, intense chocolate and earthy character that Sumatra is known for, with a very full body and minimal acidity.
Where exactly does this coffee come from?
From Aceh, Sumatra — the northern tip of the Indonesian island, known for producing some of Indonesia's finest coffee.
Is this good for espresso?
Yes — the dark roast and full body make it an excellent espresso, particularly well-suited to milk-based drinks like flat whites and lattes.
