Herbatint 4C Ash Chestnut is a gentle, ammonia-free permanent herbal hair colour gel that gives 100% grey coverage and a natural, shiny result. As part of the Ash (C) series it gives cool ash tones that neutralise unwanted warmth.

The formula is enriched with 8 plant extracts, including aloe vera, witch hazel, birch, echinacea, walnut, rhubarb, cinchona and meadowfoam, and is free from ammonia, resorcinol and alcohol. The non-drip gel is easy to apply evenly, it is dermatologically tested and suitable for vegans.

Each 170ml kit contains 60ml colour gel, 60ml developer and a 50ml Royal Cream Conditioner, plus gloves and instructions, enough for up to 2 applications. With more than 20% grey hair, mix it with the matching Natural (N) shade for full coverage.

About Herbatint

Herbatint is made in Italy by Antica Erboristeria, a certified B Corp, and has been the original ammonia-free permanent hair colour for over 50 years. The bottles are made from recycled plastic.

How to Use

Do a skin sensitivity test 48 hours before every use. Mix the colour gel and developer 1:1 in a plastic or glass bowl (not metal) and apply to dry, unwashed hair, starting at the roots. Leave on for 40 minutes, keeping strictly to the time. Rinse, apply the Royal Cream Conditioner for 1 minute and rinse again.

Does Herbatint contain PPD?
Yes. Like most permanent hair colours it contains p-phenylenediamine, so it is not suitable for people with a PPD allergy. It is free from ammonia and resorcinol.

Yes, Herbatint gives 100% grey coverage. With more than 20% grey, mix this shade with the matching N shade.
