Raw cacao powder is made from cold-pressing unroasted cacao beans — preserving more of the naturally occurring antioxidants, particularly flavanols, that are partially reduced during the roasting process used for conventional cocoa powder. These certified organic raw cacao powder from Just Natural Organic have an intense, complex, slightly bitter, fruity-chocolate flavour distinctly different from roasted cocoa.
Exceptionally rich in iron, manganese, magnesium, copper, zinc, and flavanols (epicatechin, catechin, and procyanidins) — among the highest antioxidant concentrations of any food. Also contains theobromine (a mild, sustained stimulant) and phenylethylamine.
Certified organic by the Soil Association. Plastic-free. Available in 200g.
Add to smoothies, protein shakes, and raw desserts. Use in raw energy balls and bliss bars. Substitute for cocoa powder in baking (use slightly less as flavour is more intense). Make raw chocolate. Add to overnight oats.

FAQs
Is raw cacao better than cocoa powder?
Raw cacao retains more flavanols (antioxidants) than cocoa powder, which is roasted at higher temperatures. The practical nutritional difference in real-world servings is modest. The main advantages are: slightly higher antioxidant activity, more intense, complex flavour, and the ability to make raw/no-bake recipes that claim maximum antioxidant preservation.
Is raw cacao caffeine-free?
No — cacao contains both caffeine (in small amounts) and theobromine (a milder, longer-lasting stimulant also found in tea). A 15g serving provides roughly 20–30mg of theobromine and 10–15mg of caffeine — modest but noticeable.
