Organic cocoa powder — rich, dark, deeply chocolatey — the essential baking ingredient for cakes, brownies, hot chocolate, and anything chocolate-flavoured. These certified organic cocoa powder from Just Natural Organic are made from roasted, defatted cacao beans — the traditional process that produces the familiar, deep chocolate flavour most people associate with cocoa.

Use in chocolate cakes, brownies, and cookies. Make hot chocolate (whisk with hot milk). Add to smoothies. Use in chocolate sauces and ganache. Make chocolate fudge and truffles.
Recipe idea — Classic Chocolate Brownies: Melt 100g butter. Whisk in 200g caster sugar and 2 eggs. Sift in 50g cocoa powder, 100g plain flour, and a pinch of salt. Fold until combined. Pour into a lined 20cm tin and bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes — the centre should be slightly fudgy. These are the best 6-ingredient brownies: deeply chocolate, dense, and perfect. The quality of organic cocoa makes an immediately noticeable difference.

FAQs
What is the difference between cocoa powder and raw cacao powder?
Cocoa powder is made from roasted cacao beans — the familiar, deep, rounded chocolate flavour in traditional baking. Raw cacao powder is made from cold-pressed unroasted beans — more bitter and complex in flavour, higher in antioxidants (some are reduced by roasting), and with a more intense, fruity note. Both work in baking, though raw cacao has a more pronounced, slightly different flavour.
Is cocoa powder gluten-free?
Yes — pure cocoa powder is naturally gluten-free.
How much iron does cocoa powder contain?
Around 13mg per 100g — making it one of the richest food sources of non-haem iron available. A 2-tablespoon serving (15g) provides nearly 15% of the adult NRV. Consume with Vitamin C-rich foods to maximise absorption.
