Dried figs are one of the most mineral-dense dried fruits available — particularly rich in calcium (162mg per 100g — 20% NRV, the highest of any common dried fruit), potassium, iron, and magnesium. These certified organic Lerida figs from Just Natural Organic are sourced from Spain's renowned Lerida fig-growing region, producing a characteristically plump, soft, sweet fig with concentrated flavour and a pleasantly chewy texture.
Figs also provide substantial dietary fibre (9.8g per 100g), copper, Vitamin B6, and a range of polyphenol antioxidants including quercetin, rutin, and chlorogenic acids concentrated in the fig skin and seeds.
Certified organic by the Soil Association. Plastic-free, home-compostable packaging. Available in 250g and 500g.
Eat straight from the bag. Slice and serve on a cheese board with walnuts and blue cheese. Chop and add to porridge, muesli, or yoghurt. Use in fruit cake, Christmas pudding, or figgy pudding. Simmer in port and spices for a sauce. Add to Moroccan lamb or duck dishes. Make fig jam.

FAQs
Why are Lerida figs considered premium?
Lerida (Lleida) is a province in Catalonia, Spain, with a centuries-old tradition of fig cultivation. The Mediterranean climate and specific soil conditions of the Lerida region produce figs with a particularly concentrated sweetness, soft texture, and characteristic flavour. They are considered among the finest dried figs from Europe.
Are figs a good calcium source for dairy-free diets?
Yes — dried figs provide around 162mg of calcium per 100g, making them the best calcium source among common dried fruits. A 50g portion provides around 81mg of calcium — roughly 10% of the adult NRV. Combined with other plant calcium sources (almonds, sesame seeds, tofu), they can contribute meaningfully to calcium intake.
Are figs good for digestion?
Yes — figs are high in dietary fibre (9.8g per 100g), containing both soluble and insoluble fibre. They also contain ficin, a digestive enzyme. Regular fig consumption is associated with improved bowel regularity.
Are these gluten-free?
Yes — dried figs are naturally gluten-free.
How should I store dried figs?
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. If they become too dry, soaking in warm water or fruit juice for 20–30 minutes will soften them considerably.
