Oat bran is the outer layer of the oat grain, separated from the endosperm during milling — the most fibre-rich part of the oat and the primary location of beta-glucan, the soluble fibre clinically proven to reduce LDL cholesterol. These certified organic oat bran from Just Natural Organic provide a concentrated nutritional punch: more beta-glucan, more protein, and more B vitamins per gram than whole rolled oats.
With around 15g of beta-glucan per 100g (versus ~4g in rolled oats) and 17g of protein, oat bran is the most efficient way to get the cholesterol-lowering benefits of oats without eating large quantities.
Certified organic by the Soil Association. Plastic-free, home-compostable packaging. Available in 350g.

FAQs
Is oat bran the same as oatmeal?
No — oat bran is the outer layer of the oat, separated from the grain. Oatmeal is the entire oat grain ground into a flour or fine meal. Oat bran is more concentrated in beta-glucan and protein; oatmeal contains the full grain including the endosperm and germ.
How much oat bran do I need for cholesterol benefits?
Clinical studies and EU health claims use 3g of beta-glucan per day. Oat bran contains around 15g beta-glucan per 100g, so approximately 20g of oat bran (2 heaped tablespoons) daily provides the target amount. It's most effective when consumed with sufficient liquid.
Is oat bran gluten-free?
Oats don't naturally contain gluten but are often cross-contaminated. These are not certified gluten-free.
