These certified organic pumpkin seeds from Just Natural Organic — also known as pepitas — are a true nutritional powerhouse. Dense in magnesium (providing over 50% of the adult NRV per 100g), which is essential for energy production, muscle function, and the nervous system, they are also exceptionally rich in zinc — critical for immune function, testosterone metabolism, and wound healing.
Pumpkin seeds contain the amino acid tryptophan, a precursor to serotonin and melatonin, which supports mood and sleep quality.
They also provide iron, phosphorus, manganese, copper, and a generous helping of plant protein at around 30g per 100g.
Certified organic by the Soil Association. Plastic-free, home-compostable packaging.
Available in 125g, 250g, 500g and 1000g.
Eat straight from the bag as a snack, scatter over salads or soups, stir into porridge or granola, use in trail mixes, or press into energy balls. Toasting in a dry pan with a little tamari for 3–4 minutes makes them irresistible as a topping for roasted vegetable dishes.
Recipe idea: Blend 200g pumpkin seeds with 2 cloves garlic, a handful of fresh basil, 3 tbsp olive oil, juice of half a lemon, and a pinch of salt for a vibrant nut-free pesto — excellent stirred through pasta or spread on toast. Alternatively, toast with cumin, coriander, and smoked paprika for a warming soup garnish.

FAQs
Why are pumpkin seeds so good for magnesium?
Pumpkin seeds are one of the best plant-based sources of magnesium, providing over 500mg per 100g — well above 50% of the adult NRV. Magnesium is involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, including energy production, protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, and blood glucose regulation. Many people in the UK are deficient in magnesium, making pumpkin seeds a valuable dietary addition.
Can pumpkin seeds help with sleep?
Pumpkin seeds contain the amino acid tryptophan, which the body converts into serotonin and then melatonin — the hormones that regulate mood and the sleep-wake cycle. Eating them alongside a carbohydrate source (such as oat cakes) in the evening may support natural melatonin production.
Are these raw or roasted?
These are raw, unsalted pumpkin seeds. You can eat them as-is or toast them in a dry pan for 3–4 minutes to enhance their flavour — they'll pop slightly and become more fragrant.
Are they suitable for vegans?
Yes — 100% plant-based and certified vegan. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike.
What is the note on the 125g size?
The 125g pack carries an internal note suggesting the 250g offers better value per gram. Both are the same product — the 125g is a useful trial or top-up size if you are trying them for the first time.
