Wheat bran is the outer layer of the wheat kernel — the part removed during white flour production — and one of the most concentrated dietary fibre sources available, with around 42g of fibre per 100g. These certified organic wheat bran from Just Natural Organic are an easy, economical way to boost fibre intake: just add a few tablespoons to porridge, yoghurt, smoothies, or baked goods.
Rich in insoluble fibre (excellent for digestive regularity), manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, and B vitamins. Contains gluten. One of the highest-fibre foods available.
Certified organic by the Soil Association. Plastic-free, home-compostable packaging. Available in 350g.
Stir 1–2 tbsp into porridge, yoghurt, or smoothies. Add to bread dough or muffin batter. Mix into breakfast cereals. Sprinkle over soups or salads. A tablespoon per day significantly increases daily fibre intake.
Recipe idea — Bran & Banana Muffins: Mix 150g wholemeal flour, 60g wheat bran, 2 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp cinnamon, 2 tbsp brown sugar. Beat 2 eggs with 200ml milk, 3 tbsp oil, and 2 mashed bananas. Combine wet and dry. Divide into 10 cases, bake at 190°C for 18–20 minutes. Moist, nutritious, high-fibre muffins ready in 30 minutes.
