Wheatgerm is the nutritional powerhouse of the wheat kernel — the tiny embryo at the heart of the grain, comprising only 2.5% of its weight but containing the majority of its vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. These certified organic wheatgerm flakes from Just Natural Organic are separated during milling and have a delicate, slightly nutty flavour that blends invisibly into most foods.
Exceptionally rich in Vitamin E (the highest plant food source per gram), folate, thiamine (B1), zinc, magnesium, and phosphorus. Also contains octacosanol — a fatty alcohol associated with endurance performance. Contains gluten.
Certified organic by the Soil Association. Plastic-free, home-compostable packaging. Available in 350g.
Stir 1–2 tbsp into porridge, yoghurt, or smoothies daily. Add to bread dough for extra nutrition. Sprinkle over salads or pasta. Use as a breadcrumb substitute. Mix into muesli or energy balls.
Recipe idea — Wheatgerm Boost Smoothie: Blend 2 tbsp wheatgerm with 1 banana, 200ml oat milk, 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 tsp honey, and a handful of spinach. The wheatgerm adds almost no detectable flavour but significantly boosts Vitamin E, folate, zinc, and B vitamins. A simple daily habit that meaningfully improves nutrient intake.

FAQs
Why is wheatgerm so nutritious?
The wheat germ is the embryo of the wheat plant — designed to contain everything needed to grow a new plant. As a result, it is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and healthy fats in extremely concentrated form. A 2-tablespoon serving provides meaningful amounts of Vitamin E, folate, zinc, and thiamine.
Does wheatgerm contain gluten?
Yes — wheatgerm is part of the wheat kernel and contains gluten proteins. Not suitable for coeliac disease.
