Profusion Organic Chickpea Orzo is orzo-shaped pasta made from 100% organic chickpea flour — a gluten-free, high-protein format with a subtly nutty, golden character that works beautifully in soups, grain bowls, warm salads and risotto-style dishes. At 19.9g of protein per 100g, it delivers significantly more protein than conventional wheat orzo while being naturally free from gluten and grains.
A single clean ingredient: organic chickpea flour. No wheat, no egg, no additives. Certified organic by the Soil Association. Naturally vegan, gluten-free and grain-free. Chickpea flour gives the orzo a mild sweetness and golden colour that absorbs the flavours of whatever liquid it cooks in — stock, tomato broth, lemon-herb water — taking on the character of the surrounding dish rather than imposing its own.
Add directly to soups and stews in the last 10 minutes of cooking. For a risotto-style dish, stir into warm stock with aromatics and cook until absorbed. Boil in salted water for 8–10 minutes for pasta salads. Use in Greek lemon soup (avgolemono-style), Mediterranean vegetable stews, warm salads with roasted courgette and feta, or cold salads with fresh herbs and lemon.
Part of the Profusion legume pasta range — certified organic, single-ingredient pastas made from pulse flours. Chickpea orzo pairs the small, adaptable orzo shape with the nutritional credentials of chickpeas for a truly versatile high-protein ingredient.
