These organic yellow split lentils from Just Natural Organic cook quickly to a creamy, smooth consistency without soaking, making them ideal for fast dals, soups, and thick, golden-hued Indian-style dishes.
Provides protein, folate, iron, and dietary fibre. Milder and slightly sweeter than red split lentils.

Recipe idea — Golden Yellow Dal: Fry 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp cumin, ½ tsp mustard seeds in oil. Add 250g rinsed yellow split lentils and 800ml vegetable stock. Simmer 20–25 minutes until thick and creamy. Season with salt, lemon juice, and fresh coriander. Serve with rice or naan. The golden colour is stunning and the flavour mellow and satisfying.

FAQs
Are yellow split lentils the same as yellow split peas?
No — yellow split lentils are hulled lentils, while yellow split peas are a different legume (Pisum sativum). Both are yellow, split, and quick-cooking, but yellow split peas have a slightly sweeter, more starchy flavour and are used in different traditional dishes.
Do these need soaking?
No — already split and hulled, cook in 20–25 minutes from dry.
