Super-strength vitamin D3 at 4000iu (100µg) per tablet — the highest daily strength Natures Aid offers, for people who want a substantial top-up rather than a maintenance dose.
Vitamin D is made in the skin on exposure to sunlight, which is why it is called the sunshine vitamin. In the UK, sunlight is too weak from about October to March for the skin to make any, and deficiency is common. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to normal blood calcium levels, to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscle function, to the normal function of the immune system, and it has a role in cell division.

Frequently asked questions
What is the 80 tablet pack?
The same 4000iu tablet in a promotional pack with 20 tablets free, sold at the price of the 60 pack.
Is 4000iu a lot?
It is a high strength — 4000iu (100µg) is the upper level considered safe for long-term daily use in adults by EFSA. If you already take other vitamin D or a multivitamin, check the combined total, and speak to your GP if you are unsure.
Who is it for?
People with little sun exposure, darker skin, or who have been told their vitamin D is low. For a standard daily amount, the 400iu or 1000iu versions are the usual choice.
Should I take it with food?
Yes — vitamin D is fat-soluble, so a meal containing some fat helps absorption.
Is it suitable for vegans?
It is suitable for vegetarians. For a vegan-certified vitamin D, see the 400iu and 1000iu tablets.
Food supplement. Do not exceed the stated dose. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
