A beautifully simple, plastic-free washing-up brush from A Slice of Green, with a smooth shaped FSC-certified oiled beechwood handle and soft Tampico plant bristles. Tampico is a heat-resistant, acid-and-alkali-resistant natural fibre from Mexican Agave plants, with high elasticity and excellent water absorption — perfectly suited for daily dish washing. Size: 23.5cm. Made in Germany.
Completely free from plastic — the handle, the bristles, and the finish are all natural. Vegan-friendly and biodegradable. Rinsing after use and standing bristle-side down or hanging to dry will maximise the lifespan of this brush. An elegant, long-lasting alternative to plastic dish brushes.
Directions for use: Use with washing-up liquid to scrub dishes, pots and pans. Rinse thoroughly after use. Store bristle-side down or hung up to allow drying between uses. Do not soak in water for extended periods.
Materials: FSC-certified oiled beechwood handle. Bristles: Tampico fibre (plant-based). Made in Germany.
FAQs
Is this suitable for non-stick pans?
Yes — Tampico bristles are soft enough for non-stick and coated cookware, while still providing effective cleaning.
Is it plastic-free?
Yes — handle and bristles are entirely plastic-free. Made from oiled beechwood and Tampico plant fibre only.
Is it vegan?
Yes — all materials are plant-derived with no animal-derived ingredients.
How should I care for it?
Rinse well after each use and allow to dry fully between uses — standing bristle-side down or hanging up is ideal. Avoid prolonged soaking in water to prevent the wood from splitting or the bristles from splaying prematurely.
Where is it made?
